How this website actually works, and who does the work on your property.

Disclaimer

Last updated: August 2026.

The short version

shoalhaventreeservices.com.au is a referral website. When you send an enquiry through this site or ring (02) 4400 9336, your job details are passed to an independent tree contractor working in the Shoalhaven region. That contractor quotes the job, attends your property and does the work.

The operator of this website is not the business that climbs your tree. We arrange the introduction. We do not run the crew, own the trucks, or perform the cutting.

We think you should know that before you pick up the phone, which is why it is stated plainly here and disclosed in the footer of every page.

Who does the work

Every service described on this website — emergency and storm damage tree work, tree removal, tree lopping, tree pruning, stump grinding, land and block clearing, hedge trimming, mulching and green waste removal and palm removal — is performed by independent third-party tree contractors.

Those contractors are separate businesses. They are not owned, employed, supervised, directed or controlled by the operator of this website, and they carry their own insurance, equipment and obligations.

What "we" means on the rest of this site

Elsewhere on this website you will read phrases like "we connect you with", "the crews we work with", and "we cover the Shoalhaven". Read those as describing the referral service and the network of independent contractors it draws on — not as a claim that the website operator holds a chainsaw.

Insurance and qualifications

We ask the contractors we work with to hold current public liability insurance and to work to relevant Australian standards, including AS 4373 for pruning of amenity trees. That is our expectation of them; it is not a warranty from us.

You should confirm insurance, licensing and qualifications directly with the contractor before work starts, and ask for it in writing. Any reputable operator will provide a certificate of currency without argument. Do not treat anything on this website as verification of a particular contractor's cover on a particular day.

Your agreement is with the contractor

Any quote, scope of work, price, timeframe, warranty, invoice, payment or variation is a matter between you and the independent contractor. The website operator is not a party to that agreement, does not set prices, does not supervise the work, and does not hold your money.

If something goes wrong on site — damage, a dispute about price, a job not finished — that is resolved with the contractor. We are happy to hear about it, and it will inform who we refer to in future, but we are not in a position to resolve a contract we are not part of.

General information, not professional advice

The guidance published on this website about local tree species, coastal soils, storm behaviour, pruning practice, stump grinding and Shoalhaven City Council's rules is general information, written in good faith and researched from publicly available sources. It is not:

  • an arboricultural assessment of your tree;
  • legal, planning or insurance advice; or
  • confirmation that a particular job is or is not permitted on your property.

Every tree is different, and so is every block. Get your specific situation looked at before you act on anything you read here.

Council rules change — check them

Tree and vegetation controls in New South Wales are updated regularly, and fees, exemptions and thresholds move with them. Where this website describes Shoalhaven City Council's requirements, it reflects our understanding at the time of writing, which may since have changed.

Confirm your specific tree, your zoning and any approval requirement with Shoalhaven City Council on 1300 293 111 before work is booked. Trees in the road reserve, on nature strips and in public reserves are managed by Council, not by property owners.

Emergencies

This website is not an emergency service and enquiries are not monitored around the clock.

  • 000 — anyone injured or trapped, or an immediate threat to life.
  • Endeavour Energy 131 003 — fallen power lines, or a tree in contact with wires. Stay well clear and treat every line as live.
  • NSW SES 132 500 — storm and flood emergencies, including a tree through a roof.

Call a tree crew once the scene is safe, not before.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of this website accepts no liability for loss, damage, cost, expense or injury arising from the work, conduct, advice or omissions of any independent contractor, from any dealing or dispute between you and a contractor, or from reliance on the general information published on this site. Nothing here excludes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our Terms of Service set this out more fully.
